3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Austin Gomber earned the win on Saturday when he gave up five hits while striking out nine over six scoreless innings in a 7-4 win over the Miami Marlins. Gomber was locked in on Saturday, striking out a season-high nine batters. He didn't allow a run after allowing four over just one inning pitched in his previous start. The 27-year-old southpaw is now 9-6 with a 3.79 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 98:28 K/BB ratio over 97 1/3 innings (19 starts). He gets the Giants on the road in his next turn, which is a tough draw. But he's earned enough goodwill over the last few months and can be started in that one.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
