Daniel Bard Locks Down The Save On Saturday
3 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Daniel Bard earned his 18th save of the season on Saturday when he allowed one hit with a strikeout over a scoreless ninth inning in a 7-4 win over the Marlins. Bard was tasked with protecting a three-run lead while facing the heart of the Miami order on Saturday. He allowed a single to Brian Anderson but was unscathed otherwise. He's now converted his last three save chances and owns a 4.14 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and 58:21 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings this year. Despite the poor rate stats, he's been a fairly reliable fantasy closer this season.
