Dyami Brown Priding Himself On Being Versatile Receiver
3 years agoWashington Football Team rookie wide receiver Dyami Brown has impressed his coaches and teammates so far throughout the first two weeks of training camp practices, and it seems he is getting accustomed to the little details that it takes to be successful in the NFL. When addressing the media on Sunday, Brown mentioned that he wants to be a versatile player and doesn't want to solely be considered a deep threat like he was in college, when he averaged 20 yards per reception in 2020. This means that short and intermediate routes will have to be added to his arsenal to keep defenses honest. Brown has said how much he has learned from Terry McLaurin, who is a perfect example of an all-around receiver. Brown is potentially playing his way onto the field in Week 1 after he has taken full advantage of Curtis Samuel's absence during training camp. He'll see some targets, but expanding his route-running capability could help to open things up for McLaurin. His deep-threat ability will open up the running game as well, so it is safe to say that Brown is going to play a role in the offense, even with a crowded receiver room. As of now, there just aren't enough targets to go around for him to be fantasy relevant in redraft leagues.
