3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is still listed as the team's starting signal-caller ahead of Saturday's exhibition matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Although this isn't a revelation, primarily after head coach Kyle Shanahan has repeatedly reiterated that the 29-year-old is the No. 1 option on the depth chart, it doesn't mean much regarding his fantasy value moving ahead. Injuries have plagued Garoppolo during his time in the Bay Area, and he is coming off a 2020 campaign where he suited up for just six games. While he is a competent quarterback, his inability to remain on the field has undoubtedly lowered his value, opening the door for Trey Lance to potentially get some attention from fantasy managers in deeper formats at some point during the year.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
