Jake McGee Blows Save Tuesday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Jake McGee blew his third save of the season in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the Diamondbacks. McGee came on to pitch the ninth inning with a two-run lead. He allowed back-to-back singles and a walk to load the bases before getting the first out on a strikeout. He then walked a run in and allowed a sac fly before getting removed from the game with the game tied. Fortunately, the Giants were able to salvage the game in the bottom of the ninth. Despite this bumpy outing, the veteran has pitched very well this season, converting 24 of 27 save opportunities with a 2.44 ERA and 27.4% strikeout rate. Fantasy managers should look to McGee's overall numbers this season and keep their trust in him as a higher-end fantasy option.
