3 years agoToronto Blue Jays relief pitchers Tim Mayza (elbow) and Joakim Soria (finger) could both make their returns from the injured list next week, according to Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic. McGrath reports that they could return for the two-game series in Washington on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Mayza landed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with left elbow inflammation, while Soria was placed on the IL with right middle finger inflammation last Wednesday. Mayza has been solid out of the bullpen for Toronto this year, going 2-1 with 13 holds, a 3.75 ERA, 1.056 WHIP and 25 percent strikeout rate across 36 innings. Soria was acquired at the trade deadline by Toronto, and over 30 1/3 innings of work this year between Arizona and Toronto he has gone 1-4 with six saves, a 4.15 ERA, 1.286 WHIP and 25 percent strikeout rate. Both should be solid options in SV/HLD formats when activated.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
