3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright was phenomenal in a 4-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday. He threw a complete game shutout, going all nine innings while allowing just two hits. He did not allow a walk and struck out seven batters. Colin Moran hit two singles, and the rest of the Pirates lineup was unable to reach base at all. Even against a weaker Pirates lineup, Wainwright was very impressive, needing just 88 pitches (58 strikes) to get all 27 outs. He'll go into his next start with an 11-6 record and a 3.27 ERA.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
