Kyle Gibson Takes Loss Versus Dodgers On Wednesday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Kyle Gibson allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings to take the loss in his "start" versus the Dodgers on Wednesday. It was a weird evening in Philly; Gibson was scratched before the game due to rain in the forecast for the early innings. Philadelphia used two relievers before the rain came, then Gibson warmed up during the 53-minute delay and proceeded as the starting pitcher, only in the third inning. Perhaps the timing affected Gibson, perhaps a good Dodger lineup just got the better of him, but Gibson wasn't as sharp as he was in his first two games for the Phillies. He induced just 10 swinging strikes on 100 pitches and allowed six hits and three walks before exiting and taking the L. He remains a solid fantasy option and should be started next time out in Arizona.
