Rowdy Tellez Not Starting On Thursday
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Rowdy Tellez (knee) isn't starting on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs and right-hander Kyle Hendricks. Tellez left Wednesday's game due to right knee discomfort. Per a tweet from MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell said Tellez and outfielder Avisail Garcia "could probably play today if necessary, but it makes sense to give them a day." McCalvy also mentioned in his tweet that the injury isn't serious. Tellez, who began the year with the Toronto Blue Jays before a mid-season trade to Milwaukee, is batting .249 with a .319 on-base percentage and nine home runs in 232 plate appearances this season. Eduardo Escobar is moving from third base to first base in place of Tellez with Luis Urias starting at third and hitting fifth. Urias could be a quality streaming option for fantasy managers on Thursday. The 24-year-old has collected 14 home runs and five stolen bases while hitting .239 with a .335 on-base percentage in 402 plate appearances this year.
