Daniel Jones Won’t Play Vs. The Jets
3 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will be held out for Saturday's preseason opener against the New York Jets. Giants head coach Joe Judge's current plan is that the team will handle the third preseason game is as the old, third preseason contest, where starters play about a half. Jones is expected to log some snaps under center in the next two preseason contests. The 24-year-old will look to bounce back in 2021 after throwing for 2,924 yards and an 11:10 TD: INT ratio across 14 games in 2020. He has been careless with the football in his first two seasons in the NFL, totaling 29 fumbles over his first 27 games. The Giants signed wide receiver Kenny Golladay this offseason and drafted WR Kadarius Toney in the first round to add to Jones' weapon arsenal. The sixth overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft has excellent value as a QB2 and the upside to finish as a top-12 fantasy QB if he can make the third-year leap.
