3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta was placed on unconditional release waivers on Thursday, according to Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic. This move comes on the heels of a poor outing on Wednesday in which he allowed eight runs on 11 hits and two walks over four innings of work against the Brewers. He's struggled all year long with a 5-11 record, 6.88 ERA and 1.76 WHIP across 86 1/3 innings of work.
