3 years agoThe Boston Red Sox have activated outfielder Kyle Schwarber (hamstring, groin) prior to Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. He is in the starting lineup, batting sixth and will be the designated hitter, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive. Schwarber, who was acquired from the Washington Nationals on July 29, has been on the IL since July 3. However, before the ailment, he was dominant at the plate. Schwarber is hitting .253 with a .570 slugging, 25 HRs, 53 RBI, and 42 runs in 72 games this year. Fantasy managers should expect Schwarber to be an everyday player with the Red Sox and he should give them a boost now that he's back. The Red Sox designated Marwin Gonzalez in a corresponding move.--Spencer Seguin - RotoBaller
