3 years agoLas Vegas Raiders quarterback Case Cookus could see some play time early on this preseason with Marcus Mariota currently questionable -- at least for the opener this Saturday -- with a sore leg. Vegas just signed Cookus this past week following his release from the Minnesota Vikings. Yet to play under center at the NFL level, the Northern Arizona product recorded 12,082 passing yards on 892-of-1,431 attempts (62.3 percent) with 105 touchdowns and 21 interceptions during his college career. It isn't clear yet just where Cookus fits into the QB depth chart behind Mariota and Nathan Peterman, but some work in the preseason could make that clearer.--Chelena Goldman
