Joey Votto Hits 26th Homer
3 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in a 6-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday. Votto lifted a fourth-inning offering from Philadelphia starter Zack Wheeler for his 26th homer of the season. The veteran infielder has been red-hot at the plate of late, hitting .333 with 15 homers, 23 runs, and 36 RBI over his past 30 games. Overall, he's hitting .285 with 48 runs, 75 RBI, and one steal over 316 at-bats. Votto's hot stretch has re-established him as one of the better fantasy first basemen in the National League and an everyday starter in most formats.
