3 years agoA.J. Allmendinger hops into the No. 16 HyperIce car with some elevated expectations once again. Metrics hurt him in the Daytona road race as he began 34th but led two laps before finishing seventh. Allmendinger finished fifth in the rain-soaked race at Austin but had some bad luck last week at Watkins Glen. The hybrid road course is one that Allmendinger knows better than anyone. After all, the racing experience at Indianapolis is likely to pay some dividends. While Allmendinger is not expected to win, there is a likelihood he races near the front. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
