3 years agoKurt Busch becomes at least a possibility this weekend because of his past success on certain road courses. He excelled at Daytona finishing fourth in February. That was after a 17th place start. This place differential trend continued at Road America (+12) and even last week at Watkins Glen (+4). The No. 1 car has performed well in this stretch leading up to The Chase. He is 14th in the standings with a win which means he has a leg up on the winless drivers battling for the final spots. Busch and Chip Ganassi Racing should have a race car that can at least stay in the top third or quarter of the field. Does he have the downforce and grip in this 750 hp package to contend?
