3 years agoColorado Rockies catcher Elias Diaz went 1-for-2 with an RBI single in a 5-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. Dom Nunez started this game behind the plate but Diaz came in as a pinch-hitter to replace him midway through the contest. He put the Rockies on the board with an RBI single off Alex Wood in the seventh inning, which accounted for his only hit of the ball game. The 30-year-old backstop is now batting .223 with a .718 OPS, 13 home runs, and 30 RBI over 233 at-bats on the year. Neither he nor Dom Nunez have been consistent producers this season but Diaz has shown flashes of power at times.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
