Drew Smyly Posts Another Below Average Outing
3 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Drew Smyly continued his lackluster play during Sunday's win over the Washington Nationals. He went four innings, six hits allowed, three earned runs, one walk, and four strikeouts in the 6-5 victory. Smyly has failed to reach the fifth inning in four of his last five outings. He'll take a 4.50 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 106 innings into his next outing versus the Baltimore Orioles. On paper, Smyly should be able to handle that lineup, but he shouldn't be considered a reliable fantasy option right now.
