3 years agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) is moving in the right direction after waiting until June to have surgery on his injured ankle. Although there have been rumblings of a trade, head coach Sean Payton didn't seem too upset with the star wideout after he was spotted playing catch before Saturday's exhibition against Baltimore, stating, "it was great seeing him. He is doing well. He is ahead of schedule. He was excited to be around these guys, and we are excited to have him." Thomas was once considered a top fantasy option, regularly taken with the first-overall selection in many leagues throughout the years. However, things went south quickly after the 28-year-old played in only seven games last season and finished with 438 yards off of 40 catches, a drastic reduction from his usual statistical output since entering the league in 2016. Nonetheless, if the former Ohio State Buckeye is floating around in upcoming fantasy drafts, he is worth taking, especially for those who have room to spare and require depth at the position.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
