Kyle Larson Has Best Car, Settles for Third Place at Verizon 200
3 years agoKyle Larson saw the Verizon 200 become more like the Verizon 235 on Sunday as the 13 overtime laps gave him a couple of extra chances to win the race. However, Larson could not quite take advantage as he finished a second behind A.J. Allmendinger. The No. 5 car also could not get by Ryan Blaney despite a few opportunities for second place. Simply, a few more laps under green might have helped. However, it was not meant to be. Larson led a race-high 28 laps, It was probably not the way he expected to take the regular-season points lead either. The important thing was Larson and his car survive on to next week in Michigan.
