Matt DiBenedetto Takes a Top Five at Indianapolis
3 years agoMatt DiBenedetto was in it to win it on Sunday afternoon at the Verizon 200. He just did not have the downforce to stay with the top cars. That is what the long overtime revealed. However, the Wood Brothers Racing driver did finish in fifth place. He avoided the collisions which plagued the final laps and any major damage to the undercarriage of his car. Lost in some of the chaos was that DiBenedetto did lead a lap in the race. It was one of those races with a pretty eventful beginning, a calm middle, then an end everyone will talk about for some time. DiBenedetto will take the result, however. He does not have a team as of press time for next season.
