3 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Justus Sheffield (oblique) struggled heavily during his rehab start with Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday. He lasted an inning 1/3 while allowing four runs and walking five batters. Sheffield does have the ability to get MLB hitters out, but this was just a bad outing. Clearly, he needs more time in the minors before he's ready to return to Seattle. The 25-year-old has been out since the beginning of July with a Grade 2 oblique strain. He wasn't reliable when healthy, so Sheffield can remain on the waiver wire.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
