Dion Dawkins Not Close To Return
3 years agoBuffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins was not available for the team's preseason opener against the Detroit Lions. It sounds like Dawkins might not be able to play anytime soon. He was been sidelined for roughly three weeks due to COVID-19. Head coach Sean McDermott mentioned Dawkins has a long road ahead of him. "He's not close to where he needs to be to play and help us," McDermott said. Both rookie Spencer Brown and Bobby Hart were taken advantage of during the preseason opener. Neither player could do anything to stop the Lions pass rushers. This is frustrating news with the regular season quickly approaching. Dawkins might not be in the right conditioning to begin the season. Which means, the Bills could be forced to use other options until he's ready. That is not good news for the Bills run game or quarterback Josh Allen who might be forced to run for his life without Dawkins available.
