Jose Suarez Pitches Well, Takes Tough Loss
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Jose Suarez (5-6) had a good outing Monday against the New York Yankees but was ultimately the losing pitcher in the 2-1 contest. He completed five innings, giving up two runs with six strikeouts and three walks. Suarez started the sixth on the mound but walked the first three batters and was quickly pulled. He has failed to go at least six innings in any of his starts, and this was just the second time in his last five outings allowing less than four runs. Suarez has a 3.88 ERA, 21.5 K%, and 9.0 BB% during seven starts and nine relief appearances. He doesn't have much fantasy value, with not enough strikeout numbers or innings to go with a 5.45 ERA as a starter.
