German Marquez Picks Up A Quality Start And A Win
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez earned the win on Tuesday when he allowed three runs on five hits with four strikeouts and one walk over 6 1/3 innings in a 7-3 win over the Padres. Marquez got off to a solid start in this game, mowing down the Padres while driving in a pair of runs himself as a batter. He didn't allow a run until the seventh inning when he surrendered three home runs to Fernando Tatis Jr., Tommy Pham, and Jake Cronenworth. He was still able to earn the win and now owns a solid 3.80 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 151:52 K/BB ratio over 147 innings (25 starts). He's got an easy matchup against the Cubs on the road in his next turn.
