Sammis Reyes In Concussion Protocol
3 years agoWashington Football Team tight end Sammis Reyes (concussion) will not participate in the team's preseason game on Friday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The 25-year-old will miss some valuable time to earn the backup tight end role to starter Logan Thomas, so the sooner he is back the better chance he has of cracking the roster. Ron Rivera has noted in the past how good of a blocker that Reyes is, so he was potentially playing his way into a roster spot. Temarrick Hemingway (concussion) has been held out of practice as well, so this potentially opens a huge opportunity for rookie John Bates to get a hold of the No. 2 tight end role in Washington. It is still unclear who will emerge as the backup, but whoever wins the backup job will only have fantasy value if Thomas misses some time.
