A.J. Dillon Misses Practice
3 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back A.J. Dillon (calf) was held out of practice on Wednesday. Matt Schneidman reports that the injury is mostly precautionary, so it shouldn't be something that limits him when the regular season begins. Dillon has the No. 2 role locked up behind starter Aaron Jones, who has also missed some practice time with a hamstring injury. The sophomore will have an expanded role this season with the departure of Jamaal Williams and could be one of the most valuable handcuffs in fantasy football. When he was given the opportunity, the former Boston College standout showed he can be an effective player. In Week 16 last season, Dillon carried the ball 21 times for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Williams vacates 119 carries in the Green Bay offense, so there is a chance that Dillon could smash his current average draft position and potentially have standalone value. If Jones were to miss anytime, Dillon would be a strong fantasy RB2.
