NASCAR Truck Series: DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for WWT Raceway Toyota 200 (8/20/21)

It's playoff time in the Camping World Truck Series.

Friday night, we head to Gateway -- now known as World Wide Technology Raceway -- to get the postseason underway. Playoff drivers start up front, so a lot fewer chances for place differential this week.

Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Truck Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Truck Series DFS lineup picks for the Toyota 200 on DraftKings. Be sure to also check out our NASCAR Premium Tools for Truck Series including our DFS Lineup Optimizer and powerful Research Station.

John Hunter Nemechek #4 ($11,600)

Starting 2nd

John Hunter Nemechek won here back in 2017 in a NEMCO truck, leading 46 laps. He also led 53 laps here in 2014 in a NEMCO truck and has three top 10s at this track.

Basically, this is a really good track for JHN and that's not even factoring in the huge upgrade in equipment he has now as he drives the 4 truck for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

If someone's going to jump out front and lead a ton of laps in this race, I think it'll be Nemechek, even if there are some other drivers who have a shot.

Todd Gilliland #38 ($9,400)

Starting 3rd

Nice discount here if you think Gilliland could be the dominant driver of this race. I mean, this is a good track for him. In four starts here, he has a pair of second-place finishes.

And lest you think "well of course he does, he was driving the KBM truck that Nemechek is in now," Gilliland took this 38 truck and led 75 of 160 laps here last season. He won the first two stages of last year's race and led every lap in Stage 2, but in the final stage, Sheldon Creed made contact with Gilliland, sending him into the wall and ending his chance to win the race.

Based on the past three years, Gilliland feels like a must-play.

Ty Majeski #66 ($9,000)

Starting 25th

Now we get into place differential.

Majeski will be piloting Thorsports' part-time entry, the 66 truck. That truck has raced five times already this year, with Majeski running three of those.

He has finishes of seventh, eighth, and 14th. He starts this race 25th.

Seems like a place differential no-brainer, right?

We can also add in that last year, Majeski raced here for Niece in the 45 truck, and he finished ninth. So, running well this year? Check. Has run well at this track? Check.

Get Majeski in your lineups.

Taylor Gray #17 (7,100)

Starting 26th

Alright, those first three plays were obvious, but now we get into the muck of mid-priced plays. It's a messy week.

Someone I have some interest in is Taylor Gray. This will only be his second Truck Series start and he finished just 35th at Watkins Glen, but these DGR trucks do have some solid speed in them, and Gray should fare better when not racing on a road course.

Gray has experience racing here in ARCA, finishing eighth last year here. This is someone who can gain some spots and get into the top 20, with top 15 upside.

Jack Wood #24 ($6,500)

Starting 21st

Again, slim pickings for PD guys because of the starting formula. But when there's a GMS truck starting sub-20th and it's not driven by Chase Purdy, call me interested.

Wood is set to make his seventh start in the Truck Series. He has no top 10s yet and has crashed out twice, with a pair of 39th-place finishes.

But in the two races he's run at normal oval tracks like WWT, he has a 15th at Charlotte and an 11th at Nashville. On a track like this one, Wood can deliver a near top 10, even if his track record is brought down by poor runs at road courses, a first-lap crash at Pocono, and a crash in the dirt race at Knoxville.

Jordan Anderson #3 ($6,000)

Starting 33rd

My favorite play of guys starting 30th or worse, Anderson's 2021 hasn't gone quite as well as expected, as he has three finishes of 25th or worse in five starts.

But Anderson's most recent Truck Series race was at Darlington, when he started 31st and finished all the way up in 10th.

Anderson's a solid driver. He can make the most of things at a track that's a little more driver-centric than the 1.5-mile cookie cutters where he was struggling.

If you want to go even deeper, Cory Roper at $5,800 starting in 37th is a good value, but he's also delivered a lot of poor results. It's risky, but I'll play him some.
