3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu was excellent on Saturday, tossing seven-shutout frames in the club's 3-0 win over the Tigers. The veteran southpaw allowed just five hits and one walk while striking out five in the 105-pitch effort, improving his record to 12-6 on the campaign. Ryu recorded all of his outs on the ground or at the plate, including getting the Tigers batters to ground into three double plays. He now sits with a 3.54 ERA and 1.15 WHIP, although we'd like to see a little more than 111 K through 140 IP on the year. Overall it's still been a solid year for Ryu who will look to keep his momentum into his next start versus the White Sox.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
