3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland took a no-decision on Saturday when he allowed two runs on six hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts over seven innings in a 5-2 win over the D-Backs. Freeland was locked in on Saturday, keeping the D-Backs off the scoreboard until the fifth inning. Daulton Varsho knocked a solo home run and Ketel Marte picked up an RBI single in that frame but Freeland remained in the game and went all the way into the seventh. He was in line for the loss until the Rockies tied the game in the bottom of the eighth. His 10 strikeouts were a season-high and the stellar effort lowered his season ERA to 4.25 with a 1.38 WHIP and 73 strikeouts over 84 2/3 innings (16 starts). He gets the Dodgers on the road in his next turn.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
