Madsen earned his most important victory to date on Saturday by defeating veteran Clay Guida in a close split decision (28-29, 29-28, 27-30). Statistically, Madsen was able to out-strike the always busy Guida, landing 98 significant strikes (101 total strikes) in 15 minutes of action. Though Madsen is an Olympic silver medalist wrestler, he only attempted one takedown on the night.
