Trevor Lawrence Throws For 113 Yards
3 years agoJacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence went 14-for-23 with 113 yards in Monday night's preseason game against the Saints. Lawrence played the whole first half and was under pressure for much of the game, but he managed to avoid mistakes in an up and down performance. The Jaguars were missing three starting offensive linemen in addition to wide receiver D.J. Chark Jr. against a strong Saints defense, so the game environment was far from optimal. The Jaguars offense as a whole has struggled with and without Lawrence on the field this preseason. It's still too early to make conclusions, but concerning play-calling, poor pass protection, and injuries to skill position players could prevent Lawrence from having an elite rookie season. Lawrence still projects as a QB2 with upside in year one, but there are significant questions around the Jaguars offense as a whole.
