Jacob deGrom Resumes Throwing On Wednesday
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (elbow) resumed throwing on Wednesday afternoon after a follow-up MRI. While results of his MRI on Wednesday have not yet been disclosed, it is obviously a good sign that deGrom resumed a throwing program. deGrom is currently on the 60-day injured list and not eligible to come off of it until September 13. Notwithstanding the good sign on Wednesday, it remains unlikely the Mets will activate deGrom for the final two weeks of the season and risk re-injury. Of course, fantasy managers with room to hold deGrom in redraft leagues can hold out hope that he will pitch a couple of times before the end of the regular season. deGrom has posted a 1.08 ERA, a 0.55 WHIP, a 45.1 K%, a 3.4 BB%, and 146 strikeouts over 92 innings pitched in 15 starts in 2021.
