Chase Elliott in Better Form Heading to Daytona
3 years agoChase Elliott only finished eighth at Michigan but he displayed a dominance riding in the clean air that was hopeful for what may be ahead. The Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver led 68 laps in all and really was a victim of that restart as much as anyone. Aside from mostly self-inflicted wounds (failed inspections, overaggressive driving, etc.), the No. 9 has performed well over most of the past two months. He has led ten or more laps in five of his past six races (road, oval, roval, etc.). Also, Elliott did finish second at Daytona in February and does not have that tendency to underperform during the summer version of the event.
