Cowboys Restructure Ezekiel Elliott’s Contract
3 years agoDallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott had his contract restructured to create cap space ahead of the 2021 season. $8.6 million of his $9.6 million base salary was converted into a signing bonus, meaning that $6.88 million of cap space will be cleared for the upcoming season. The 26-year-old is coming off a 2020 season where he finished with a career-low 979 rushing yards, much of which had to do with injuries to the offensive line and the absence of quarterback Dak Prescott. Going into 2021, Elliott remains a solid RB1 option as he will once again be a focal point of the offense. In what should be a high-powered offense, there should be no shortage of scoring opportunities for Elliott, meaning he should be in for some positive touchdown regression. He should be drafted in the middle of the first round in fantasy drafts.
