3 years agoThe Los Angeles Chargers Week 3 preseason game versus the Seattle Seahawks will be important for backup running backs Joshua Kelley and rookie Larry Rountree III. Starter Austin Ekeler has sat out all preseason games with the Chargers benching the bulk of their starters and veteran Justin Jackson appears to be the No. 2 running back for now. With that said, Kelley and Rountree should be expected to see plenty of opportunity versus the Seahawks and that performance can determine who wins the No. 3 spot in the backfield. Kelley has struggled mightily throughout the preseason and has rushed the ball 15 times for just 28 yards. He has also caught three balls for nine yards. Meanwhile, Rountree had an impressive debut in Week 1, but struggled in Week 2. In total, the rookie has rushed the ball 16 times for 75 yards and caught four receptions for 15 yards. Rountree has drawn plenty of praise during training camp and with a new coaching staff in place, Kelley's roster spot in his sophomore season won't be guaranteed with a poor performance on Friday. Those playing DFS in Week 3 of the preseason should gear towards Rountree over Kelley this evening.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
