3 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Patrick Sandoval (back) will not pitch again in 2021 due to a stress fracture in his back, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. Sandoval was placed on the injured list last Wednesday with what was reported as a left lumbar spine stress reaction, but now this news clarifies it is a stress fracture that will end his year prematurely. Sandoval has had a breakout year for Los Angeles, going 3-6 with a 3.62 ERA, 1.207 WHIP and 25.9 percent strikeout rate across 87 innings of work.
