Jorge Mateo Hits First Homer As Oriole Sunday
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Jorge Mateo stayed red-hot in Sunday's 12-8 loss to the Rays, going 1-for-5 with a two-run home run. The sixth-inning shot was Mateo's third of the season but first with the Orioles, who he joined in the beginning of August. Mateo has been highly effective since joining the O's, slashing .353/.380/.515 with five RBI and four stolen bases. His elite speed helps in the steals department and getting extra-base-hits, making him an interesting option in deeper leagues down the stretch if he can continue to hit for average.
