Trey Lance Scores Rushing Touchdown in Preseason Finale
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance completed 6-of-13 pass attempts for 46 yards and carried six times for eight yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 34-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in the preseason finale. The rookie quarterback was rotated in via certain heavy personnel packages on the first couple of drives, primarily as a ball carrier. The RPO-styled west coast offense ran by 49ers' head coach Kyle Shanahan put Lance in an easy scoring situation at the goal-line, resulting in a two-yard rushing touchdown at the beginning of the second quarter. Lance was pedestrian as a passer compared to his previous two preseason performances. However, it was a significant takeaway to see him used as a ball-carrier or decoy during first-team drives. Lance is currently valued as the QB19, meaning he's a great value in the 11th and 12th rounds of fantasy drafts.
