3 years agoOakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman is batting cleanup versus the Tigers on Wednesday after posting his best month of the season in August. In the previous month, Chapman posted a team-high .964 OPS with nine homers, three more homers than he had in any other month this season. The gold-glover has had a rough season with the lumber, mostly due to a strikeout rate that has been above 30% all season long. Chapman still whiffed plenty in August, but he's showing enough power to be useful in fantasy leagues again. He'll look to carry his recent success into good matchups with Wily Peralta and Matt Manning to begin the month of September.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
