James Kaprielian Hit Hard By Tigers On Wednesday
3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher James Kaprielian allowed four runs across four-plus innings pitched in a no-decision at Detroit on Wednesday. The game was a microcosm of Kaprilian's season as he started off great, but faded towards the end as he couldn't record an out in the fifth inning. Kaprielian has failed to complete six innings in five of his last six starts and he's got a 6.67 ERA in that span with just a 20.2% strikeout rate. Perhaps the rookie is hitting a wall as he head into September as Kaprielian has thrown 97 innings this year, more than double his innings total from last season and close to double his innings total from 2019. He's a risky start next time out versus a tough White Sox lineup.
