Antonio Gibson Says Sophomore Season Will Be “Something Special”
3 years agoWashington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson has been identified by many as a potential breakout player heading into his second year as a pro. In a recent interview, Gibson said he has his eyes on "something special" as he will be relied on to carry the load in the Washington backfield this season. The 23-year-old has a lot of confidence in himself because of his dual-threat ability as a rusher and pass-catcher, which is the main reason why he has the potential to be considered an elite running back. "I make the extra cut. I'm not scared to make somebody miss in the backfield, and then try to get north. That's what puts me over the edge of a lot of folks," said Gibson. The former Memphis standout can put up RB1 numbers for fantasy managers this season, as he will be the centerpiece of a much-improved offense. With the departure of Peyton Barber, there will be more of an opportunity for carries close to the goal-line for Gibson.
