Jose Urquidy Returns Friday
3 years agoHouston Astros starter Jose Urquidy will take the mound Friday night against the Padres. Urquidy (shoulder) was activated to make his first start since June 29 after reporting discomfort in his throwing shoulder. Before being put on the shelf, Urquidy was having a very solid season. Through 14 starts this year, the right-handed starter is 6-3 with an impressive 0.96 WHIP and a 3.38 ERA. He has walked only 13 batters all season through 77 1/3 innings pitched to go along with 66 strikeouts. Urquidy could become a streaming option down the stretch but will face a talented Padres lineup out of the gate.
