Carlos Estevez Grabs Fourth Save Of The Season
3 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Carlos Estevez earned the save on Friday when he worked a scoreless ninth inning in a 4-3 win over the Atlanta Braves. Daniel Bard lost his closer job in late August, which has opened the door for the 28-year-old Estevez to earn some saves. He had a difficult task on Friday as he had to face the heart of the Braves' lineup while protecting a one-run lead. But he got the job done by getting Jorge Soler and Freddie Freeman to ground out before Austin Riley lined out to end the contest. Estevez is now 4-for-8 on save chances and owns a 3.83 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 50:17 K/BB ratio over 49 1/3 innings on the year. He's worth a speculative add if you need some saves during the fantasy playoffs.
