Kevin Harvick Surprises and Slips Into Fifth at Darlington
3 years agoKevin Harvick suddenly found himself in the top five on Sunday night and yet handled it well. The resulting fifth-place finish was solid for the Stewart-Haas Racing driver. Despite all the fluctuations, the No. 4 car was fifth after the first stage, second stage, and at the checkered flag. Unlike Martin Truex Jr., Harvick managed to lead 20 laps overall in the race. Considering that he started 16th in the playoff chase, a fifth-place bodes well for his chances given some of the other results. Harvick runs well at Richmond and Martinsville traditionally. He may have a shot at the round of 12 after all.
