Justin Herbert Draws Tough Matchup In Week 1
3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert will draw a tough Week 1 matchup versus the Washington Football Team. The sophomore quarterback had an excellent rookie campaign and the teams new coaching staff elected to sit him out in of the Chargers preseason games. Herbert threw for 4336 yards with 31 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in his rookie season. He also rushed ball 55 times for 234 yards and five touchdowns. The former Oregon Duck is set up to be a QB1 this season, but managers should be aware of his tough matchup to open the season. The Washington Football Team dominated against the pass in 2020 and allowed the second fewest yards per game versus opposing signal callers. They also had the sixth most sacks and fifth most interceptions as a team. Despite the tough opponent, the Chargers emphasized improving the offensive line this offseason and Herbert remains a bright talent behind center. Moving forward, Herbert should be considered a QB1, but managers may want to temper their expectations in a tough Week 1 matchup.
