Austin Ekeler Primed For Big Season, Draws Tough Week 1 Opponent
3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler is set up to have a monster season in 2021, but he will draw a tough Washington Football Team defense in Week 1. The Washington Football Team was one of the best defenses in the league this past year and are bringing back many of their stars this season. If there was one flaw for the defense last year, it was that they were in the middle of pact versus the run game and allowed 112.8 yards per game to opposing runners. Ekeler was a healthy scratch in all three preseason games, but is in line to play a huge role with Joe Lombardi now calling plays for the Chargers. Lombardi came over from the Saints and is known to get his running backs involved heavily in the offense, especially as pass catchers. Ekeler is one of the most talented receiving backs in the game and has a chance to be one of the top players in the league this season with the Chargers new offense. Even against a tough defense, Ekeler should be considered a RB1 in all formats and he has a chance to make gigantic impact in PPR leagues this season.
