Keenan Allen Draws Tough Week 1 Matchup
3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen is primed to once again have a big season in 2021. With quarterback Justin Herbert behind center for all but one game last season, Allen thrived and caught 100 balls for 992 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games. The Chargers made Allen a healthy scratch in all three preseason games, but the veteran is set up to once again be the No. 1 receiver in what is projected to be one of the highest scoring offenses in the league this season. Over the last four seasons, Allen has caught 100 or more balls three times with 97 receptions being the lowest total during that span. Out of the gate, Allen will have a tough matchup versus a tough Washington Football Team that limited opposing teams to the second fewest passing yards per game at 191.8. Despite a tough Week 1 matchup, managers shouldn't shy away from starting Allen in Week 1. Allen should be considered a WR2 in a tough Week 1 matchup, but offers WR1 upside moving forward.
