Carlos Carrasco Picks Up First Win On Tuesday
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco went five innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on seven hits and one walk in the Mets 9-4 win over the Marlins on Tuesday. Carrasco, who did not have his best stuff or a solid defense behind him, struck out four and gutted out those five innings to pick up his first win of the season raising his record to 1-2. Carrasco missed the majority of the season with a severe hamstring strain which kept him sidelined until July 30. He has had a rocky shortened season, exemplified by a 5.88 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 33 2/3 innings pitched, though he has pitched better of late. Over his last three starts, Carrasco has now posted a 3.12 ERA, an 0.92 WHIP, and a 14:2 K:BB ratio in 17 1/3 IP. Carrasco appears back on track after a rough start and should continue to be deployed by fantasy managers in all formats. His next scheduled start will be a more difficult task when he faces the Yankees at home on Sunday.
