3 years agoAtlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan draws a middle-of-the-road matchup against the Eagles in Week 1. The veteran quarterback will enter a campaign without All-Pro Julio Jones as one of his pass-catchers for the first time since the 2010 season, though he still has some capable weapons at his disposal, such as breakout star Calvin Ridley, talented rookie Kyle Pitts, and up-and-comer Russell Gage. Ryan will take on an Eagles defense that allowed an average of 17.95 fantasy points per game to opposing signal-callers last season, which ranked 16th in the league. It's not an overly favorable matchup but the Falcons defense could have a hard time slowing down Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, meaning that Ryan and the Atlanta offense could be playing catch-up. Ryan should be able to do enough to post high-end QB2 numbers, with the potential for more if the game turns into a shootout.--Tim Capurso
